Yoakum Rotarians were honored to have Past District Governor, Rich Kaye, present the program at their January 7th meeting.   His presentation detailed the purpose and objectives of the Rotary Foundation.  Notably, MSNBC ranked the Rotary Foundation  in the top five charities worldwide that spend the least on administration costs.  That means most all of the funds raised by Rotarians go directly to worldwide service programs.   The Foundation sponsors many humanitarian projects all over the world, however, their primary target for many years has been global polio eradication.  2015 marked the 30th year of Rotary's partnership in the global initiative to eradicate the devastating disease.  At the end of 2015, there were only 70 cases of polio in the world (in two countries).  "We are so close to our goal", stated Kaye.
